The BP-2xi is a 7.2 volt 1600mAh replacement rechargeable NiMH insert - it goes inside the ICOM BP-2 battery pack (the one that has NO plug-in jacks). This insert has E-Z solder tabs, and since the old BP-2 unscrews open, rebuilding/installation is fairly easy.
